So, every year now we throw a costume party/murder mystery game.
The first year had no theme, the second year we did super heroes
(of course!) and this year was movies. Now we try to make
original characters every year and this year was no exception.
We made up our own movie plots and some of us went above and
beyond the call of duty and actually made trailers. For
fun, I thought I'd post some.
Up first, we have my trailer inspired by just about any
anime you've seen. The actors in this film are not
actors, nor do we speak Japanese. We learned the
script, shot, and edited it all pretty much in a week.
I (Christina) was quite pleased with the results.
Next, we have a horror film that was created for the
pure joy I would receive from freaking out my baby
sister Tina. She used to enjoy a stuffed animal of
mine, but I found clever ways to freak her out with it
and now it is a weapon of fear. I shot this all without
her knowledge and premiered it at the party. She
laughed, but was disturbed. It brought me joy.
Katrina hasn't had a lot of experience with editing or
making costumes, so this was a bit of a challenge for
her, but with the proper pacing, she was able to pull it
off. I do hate the song choice, but her choice of clips
were pretty impressive and she did a good job for such a
rookie.
Now for perhaps the one that took the most effort. My
baby sister Tina didn't have any experience with special
effects and all was going well with color splash, until
her skin tone was matched too closely to the leaves.
Then she was forced to cut herself out frame by frame,
which took A LOT of time for her. But with some sound
advice from big sister, she was about to pull off a
unique project that really impressed us all.
