We had a great time in Metropolis, Illinois, the official home of Superman.  Metropolis is one of the greatest places to visit if you're a comic book fan because they have the Superman Museum as well as the Superman Store.  They have the largest collection of Superman products on the planet.  We got to take a tour of the store and of the museum and we were thoroughly impressed with all of the memorabilia.

We really came into town for the Superman Celebration.  One of the coolest things that happened was the costume contest, with a $1,000 prize.  The result?  A lot of really impressive costumes.  There was a kid's costume contest on Saturday and then the big costume contest was on Saturday.  We had our favorite.  If you watch Smallville, you probably recognize this costume as Lois's cosplay outfit in "Warrior".  But the winners were also quite impressive, working on their wings for six months!

There were also some pretty awesome activities going on at the event.  There were art contests, which our little sister won first place in her age group with her impressive Brandon Routh as Superman artwork.

Of course one of the coolest things that happened was we got to meet Sam Huntington, one of the current stars from Syfy's Being Human.  He's just as funny and sweet in person as he is on TV.  Brandon Routh and Alaina Huffman also came to the event and our little sister Tina even got to give her artwork to Brandon Routh and she was quite giddy about it.

Probably the best thing about the even were the kind people we got to meet.  We got to meet Captain Logan in person, some our of fans, and our vender neighbors were so nice!  We wouldn't have made it through the weekend without them.

There were also some parties, concerts, fan film festivals, and other contests as well.  The entire weekend was packed with events.

We had a great time.  The only thing that got us was that heat!  Whew!  We were dying in our little tent!  If you stopped by our tent and didn't have the money at the time to buy any of our products, please feel free to visit our store and we'll hook you up with some geeky swag!
