There were a lot of different options for our fans to choose from when we had our polls up. For our video, we listed the top four contenders and revealed the results. If you don't like the results and desire to flame us, please understand that this was 100% left up for the people to decide. The majority wins and the majority has spoken. And the winners are: Favorite Couple: Lois and Clark Was there any doubt? Clark and Lana might have easily won seasons 1-4 and perhaps up to season 7, but ever sence Lois and Clark got together, they've been going strong. With making mistakes in former relationships, they handle their relationship at a steady pace being careful as possible not to ruin the bond that they've always had. They've had some very adorable moments and went through all the motions of getting married. Unfortunately, we never got to see them say "I do", but off screen, we can trust that they're still together. Worst Character Adaptation: Mr. Mxyzptlk There have been some pretty terrible adaptations on this show, and "Jinx" wasn't the worst episode with one of these characters, but it did seem like the biggest waste. Mxyzptlk is practically an all powerful being and they him turned into a guy who wanted to rig football games. It just wasn't cool. So many potentially great episodes completely wasted. Best Character Adaptation: Lois Lane People really love Lois Lane and she has been a very bright spot in this series. Even though a lot of fans love Teri Hatcher, Erica Durance has outdone every live action adaptation. With the exception of a couple of moments and the obvious liberties Smallville has taken, Smallville's Lois has been comic Lois through and through, when you look at the core of her character. Favorite Writer or Writing Team: Al Septien and Turi Meyer There were some pretty heavy contenders in this category, but the writing team that brought us one of our top contenders for favorite episode "Salvation" won out as our favorite writers. Through the series, they have written some fantastic episodes that are very memorable. Favorite Director: Tom Welling Many fans of Smallville petitioned for Tom Welling to be the new face of Superman for the Man of Steel film, but he does some great work behind the camera. There were lots of great directors to contend with, but it's clear that Tom Welling has many fans that will back him and with episodes like "Apocalypse" and "Booster" under his belt, we can see why. Best Villain: Lex Luthor He is the villain of the story. It was hard with Lex gone, particularly in season 8 when an actor who wasn't Michael Rosenbaum watched all the action from behind a screen, but that's only because we remembered how awesome he was. He started out as an ambitious young man who wanted to do "great" things, not "good" and somehow, it just turned into flat out "bad". If you don't count DC's animated universe, Smallville has produced the best Lex Luthor and we'll never forget that. Favorite Super Hero: The Blur It's a good things that the hero of the story won out in the end. This is a show about "Superman" and since that phrase was barely uttered, we used the name that was given to Clark. He did have a lot of impressive saves and even some of the little moments like when he took out a criminal by throwing a can was great. By the end of the story, he traded in his coats for a cape and graduated from lifting of the Daily Planet globe to moving planets. That's when he became Superman, but for the journey, he was "The Blur". Favorite Team: Lois and Clark The duo beat out every single super hero team. Perhaps if the Justice League had an actual name, they could have pulled off a victory. All kidding aside, shippers love Lois and Clark. They've had great chemistry since she showed up in season four and right after Clark remembered who he was, they started on their first mystery, which was finding Chloe. From then on, they consciously worked together, accidently worked together, were forced to work together. Anyway you slice it, they made a great pair. Eventually, Lois becomes the person who Clark leans on to do what he needs to do and in the world of Smallville, she plays a huge role in him becoming Superman. Favorite Guest Star: James Marsters He even beat out Superman himself, Christopher Reeve, which is no small feat. James Marsters fans from Buffy are still going strong. But he did play a huge role in the series. It's surprising that he actually wasn't a regular and only a guest star. Brainiac is one of the deadliest villains in the comic books. Best Actress: Erica Durance Erica is for sure the best Lois Lane and she's taken us through a journey with some wild misguidance while struggling to mature days to a dedicated partner worthy of capturing the eye of Superman. The fans have taken such a liking to her and it's not hard to understand why. She's more than done her part. It's too bad she can't play Lois Lane in every single Superman related project. I don't know if there will be another as great. Take notes, Amy. Best Actor: John Glover John Glover is a beast and if you needed a reminder, he certainly did remind us in season 10 why he is daddy Luthor. Not only has his role of Lionel been outstanding, but if you recall when Clark and Lionel switched bodies, John Glover captured Clark's "I don't know what you're talking about, even though I totally do and I'm trying to play it cool, but I'm failing and looking like an idiot to the viewer" thing down! John Glover was great. Worst Episode: "Requiem" Perhaps this episode is a little undeserving, but the fans have spoken. Perhaps it was the entire Lana arc in season 8 that the fans disliked. Maybe it was the fact that we had "Lex" but not Michael Rosenbaum in the role. Or it could have been Oliver supposedly killing him with a toy monkey. I don't know, but something was screwy with this episode. Most of all, Lana's exit just left us with too much baggage. With all the things we and these characters have been through, Clark and Lana should have had a clean break. All it did was leave us with nasty feelings in the air and leave us confused when in the very next episode, he was totally Lois focused, making Clark look pretty darn fickle. Favorite Episode: "Homecoming" It's fitting that an episodes that spans so much of the series is the favorite from the fans. Clark revisits some issues of his past, fears of the future, all in order to set things right in his present. We saw a lot of great flashbacks, had James Marsters return, and Clark had the sweetest moment with Lois when he confessed his love and started floating. We squealed. And if you're not a shipper, at least Clark made it a couple of inches off the ground. It was about time, right?
